Mallorca is by far the largest of the Balearic islands. The popular island group is about the same height as Lisbon in the western Mediterranean. The Spanish coast is about 100 km away. Manacor is especially famous for its pearl farming, which is visited by many tourists. At the end of the motorway from Palma to Alcudia is the industrial town of Inca. In the third-largest town on the island (21,500 inhabitants), the leather manufacturers offer a worthwhile destination. Center of the west coast of the 11,000 inhabitants Sóller with its Puerto Sóller. The west coast is a paradise for hikers and experienced cyclists. The sea is the coast from almost vertical, and there are very few sandy beaches.
